Non-European Languages
The United Nations General Assembly (Resolution A/RES/74/135) has set aside the period between 2022 and 2032International Decade of Indigenous Languages(IDIL 2022-2032) to draw global attention to the critical situation of many indigenous languages and to mobilize actors and resources for their preservation, revitalization and promotion.
According to UNESCO,indigenous languagesare divided into regions. They are most concentrated in Latin America in particular. For example, in Argentina we find languages like Wichí, Chorote or Mocoví. In Ecuador: Tsafiki, Quechua or Sapara. In Peru, among others, the Bora, the Ocaína or the Cholón. In general, if one focuses on more specific numbers, there are more widely spoken languages like Quechua with 14 million speakers; the Guarani with 12 million; Aymara with 3 million or Nahuatl with 2.5 million.
More than a thousand different languages are spoken in Africa. Apart from Arabic, whose borders cross those of the continent, Swahili and Hausa are the most widely spoken languages among Africans, with more than ten million speakers each.

Mother Language Day 2023
Migra UpandLingua Pankow have the online event:"Preserve our "stateless" languages! organize on February 21st. We achieved a warm and open-minded atmosphere for this new topic, with which we try to open the discussion to promote multilingualism from adecolonial perspectiveto expand.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Mandana Seyfeddinipur, Head of the Endangered Languages Archive & Endangered Languages Documentation Program. The panel discussion was represented by 3 African MSOs from Pankow: Sources d'Espoir eV, African Parents Association Berlin Brandenburg AfEBB eV and VPDA eV.

The women's collective MigrArte Perú organized the workshop "Quechua in Berlin - an anthropological view. The indigenous language Quechua (Runa Simi)” within the framework of the BEFaN network. With the anthropologist Anett Hofmann.
Pankow Bilingual Fairy Tale Days 2016-2022
In Berlin we find that through the migrant organization, several migrants live on in some languages. A number of activities have been undertaken in our district to address the issue. As of 2019 Quechua (Peru), Swahili (Kenya) and Mabi (Cameroon) were included in the program forBilingual Fairy Tale Daysrecorded in Pankow.
